Job brief/purpose
Use of the principles of engineering, soil science, biology, and chemistry in order to develop solutions to environmental problems. Involve efforts to improve recycling, waste disposal, public health, and water and air pollution control.
Relationships
Reporting to a Project Manager, he/she will lead 1 or 2 teams of engineers in the accomplishment of assigned projects in the Philippines and/or overseas.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible in leading a team or in the assessment of projects.
  • Provides inputs to the team on environmental constraints on sites
  • Advises on permits and stakeholder issues needed to advance projects
  • Prepare inputs to ECC reports and Environmental Impact Assessments
  • Oversees consultants undertaking site surveys
  • Prepares outputs directed by project teams
  • Ensures operation in accordance with local Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Undertakes work within defined budgets and Arup fee scales.
  • Contributes to the development of good practice within discipline through involvement with skills networks
  • Liaises with Project Managers, relevant Skills Network and 3 rd Parties (i.e. Clients, Consultants and Contractors)
  • Liaises with relevant external parties to ensure understanding of the client’s needs and project requirements.
Scope
There is scope for the role to take on a more responsibility for project management tasks. This will depend on business need.

Relationships/Contacts
  • Regular contact with other professionals within discipline across the firm.
  • Regular liaison with Project Manager and Engineers.
  • Regular liaison outside the firm with technical specialists, clients and engineers.
Qualifications
  • Licensed professional in appropriate discipline, post graduate studies will be an advantage
  • 2 -7 years’ experience in a range of road, bridge, and site development projects
  • Have had close engagement in preparing ECC reports and permitting of projects
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
